Residents are doing their best to keep busy during lockdown as good weather allows a range of outdoor activities.

Keeping young children busy has been a challenge for parents and caregivers across the city.

Baking and some form of outdoor exercise have been the most popular options.

"Teaching my 3-year-old Harlem how to cook and bake by getting him involved with meals," Carmen Everett said.

"Today we made scones for morning tea."

Leigh-Marama McLachlan and her son Richie took advantage of good weather on the weekend to build a scarecrow.

McLachlan said they built the scarecrow using an old shovel and taped some old rags around the middle for a stomach.

They dressed it in old clothes, made the head and and then threaded another stick through for the arms.

"I like making scarecrows because they are awesome and cool, and they will scare birds away so they don't eat our seeds," Richie said.

Rosie Dunn went for a slightly different recipe, making a chia seed slime for her son.

"Also doing lots of reading, colouring in and playing outside any chance we get," she said.

Nikola Terry said her children had been continuing school cross country practice by doing laps around the back paddock.

"Alpacas make great spectators too."

Gypsy Anderson said her son had been adventuring in lockdown and getting to see more of his neighbourhood.
