The cost of the two weather events to Whanganui's roading network, and other costs, has come in at just over $1 million.
But with subsidies from the New Zealand Transport Agency the cost to Whanganui ratepayers stands at $165,000. That may rise as final costs come in, Whanganui District Council infrastructure manager Mark Hughes told Wednesday's infrastructure and special projects committee.
The costs covered repairs to the Whanganui River Road, Anzac Parade and other district roads. It also included non-roading costs including sandbagging.
Cyclone Debbie packed the biggest punch, causing $850,000 of damage, while cyclone Cook left a $180,000 calling card.
