A court was this week told a woman punched her identical twin because she was "sick" of her.
Leanne Eileen Te Maari, 24, of Wellington, admitted one charge of common assault when she appeared before Judge David Cameron on Tuesday.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Steve Butler told the court that on August 15 Te Maari was at the Wanganui home of her twin and they had been drinking with the sister's flatmate.
Around 11pm an argument broke out between the pair and Te Maari repeatedly punched her sister and, when she fell to the floor, attempted to kick her as well, shouting "I'm sick of you, b ...". The victim protected her face with her arm so she was not injured by the kicks, and managed to get up and lock herself in the bathroom where she telephoned police.
She suffered several injuries including a swollen lip.
