Vandals who damaged a pitch rolling machine and a building at Victoria Park cricket grounds on Thursday night left some clues behind.
The late night visitors left a distinctive hoodie at the scene along with a pair of scissors which police have taken for testing.
Cricket Wanganui's development officer Dilan Raj, said police have also lifted a finger print from the cab of the grass roller.
Mr Raj said the abandoned hoodie had been used to cover the flashing red light on top of the grass roller cab.
Some of the neighbours in Parsons St, alongside the cricket grounds, told Mr Raj they heard sounds on Thursday night but thought they were coming from roadworks.
