Tighter animal control bylaws targeting horses in Castlecliff could threaten "the essence of the 'Cliff," one woman says.
Krissy Riordan has lived in the seaside suburb for 18 months and is part of a small group who own horses in the area.
An article in the Chronicle last week caught Ms Riordan's attention with comments from an unidentified man complaining about horse owners in the area.
He said the horses were often wandering Seafront Rd unattended, and there were horse droppings all over the reserve, but Ms Riordan said that was "absolutely untrue".
Ms Riordan said her group of friends, whom she called "rough riders", all had paddocks or sections to contain their horses, but would often wander around the street with their horses during the day, drawing laughter and smiles from passing members of the public.
