A bustling crowd of people from throughout the Rangitikei filled Mangaweka village last Saturday.
In the village hall was the Christmas Fayre organised by resident Irene Loder.
"Our fayre was bustling with stall-holders who had travelled here for the day. People strolled around the fair, walked down old Broadway where they loved the book sale at the fire station. And it was lovely to see families sitting outside the cafe Papa Cliff on the lawn picnicking with their children.''
The stalls at the fair had sold everything from delicious sweets, Scandinavian Christmas trees, home crafted jewellery, and crocheted hats to glass wind chimes made by an artist from Otaki, she said.
"We kept the hall charge for stall-holders modest because they all had had to travel here."
