A Wanganui man has appeared in court a week after police seized cannabis from a Chinese restaurant.
The man, who has interim name suppression, appeared in the Whanganui District Court yesterday charged with cultivating cannabis, possessing cannabis for supply, and possessing a firearm without a licence.
The charges come after the Beijing restaurant and takeaway was raided by police last Friday. About 100 cannabis plants, dried and drying plant material, and drug-growing paraphernalia were seized.
The man was remanded on bail to appear in the Whanganui District Court on October 1.
