A woman who died after a car crash in south Taranaki has been named as a Canadian national who lived locally.

Angelika Melisa Loukas, 21, died after the crash on Waitotara Valley Rd in the early hours of Sunday, October 29.

Loukas, who lived in Waitotara Valley, was in the vehicle when it lost control and careered about 100m down a steep hill.

The crash happened about 4.20am.
