Whanganui East dairy owners Jian Xiang Zhou his wife Auan Zhi Xig can now feel safer at work thanks to a donation from former resident Andrew Slight.
After the Rangtikei St dairy was robbed by hammer wielding thieves on September 9, Mr Slight, who used to live in the neighbourhood, offered to donate the full HD DVR security camera kit to the owners.
Mr Slight spoke to the Chronicle before returning to his current home in Auckland on Sunday.
"I hope it will give them a sense of security and deter thieves from targeting the dairy again," he said.
Mr Slight's brother, an electrician, installed the cameras on Saturday and a Givealittle campaign has been launched to pay for cameras outside the shop as well.
