Two years ago building a house that would provide comfort and easy access for ill four year old William Huijs was a "distant dream".
Now, thanks to the help of local businesses as well as friends and family, parents Jemma and Glenn Huijs sit happily with William in the lounge of their newly built home off Fitzherbert Ave.
Born ten weeks premature William has a hole in his heart, has a club foot, has underdeveloped lungs and suffers from partial deletion of the second chromosome - a condition the doctor could find in only 20 recorded cases worldwide.
He may never be able to walk and talk and suffering from chronic lung disease means he gets sick easily.
Franchise owners of the local GJ Gardner Homes branch Alex and Michelle Sigley set up a Givealittle campaign to help raise money for a new home for William, with features to aid his care.
