Allan Anderson

Conservationist Allan Anderson has won the Pride of New Zealand environment award for the lower North Island.

The lower North Island awards were presented at a special ceremony in Hastings last night. Mr Anderson will now be eligible for the national award.

He was nominated for his conservation work for the Bushy Park wildlife reserve, particularly his fundraising efforts.

Voting for the TSB Bank's People's Choice Award will start on August 17, with the winner from the public vote announced at the national Pride of New Zealand Awards on September 16.

This person will also receive $10,000 from TSB Bank to go towards a chosen cause.
