He's known as the burn-out legend and he's back this weekend to cover Whanganui in fresh rubber.
Brent Whittingham from Feilding will be back with his 1972 Z28 Camaro, one of four demo cars to appear at the Wanganui Road Rodders 31st Street Drags, on Sunday.
"Brent's a burn-out specialistwith a cult following. He's known for his long burn-outs before runs and will be here to entertain the crowds," a spokesman for Sunday's event said.
The Camaro boasts a 601 cubic inch engine and runs a three-stage nitrous oxide system. It's best time over a quarter mile is 8.01 seconds at a staggering 168mph (270 kph).
Another demo car attraction will be the Blues Brothers dragster owned by Whanganui's Grant Rivers.
Eighty entries have been received for the annual event to be held on Taupo Quay from 10am - 3pm. Tickets for the event are $15 for adults, $5 for children and $35 for a family pass.
