Session for teachers
There will be a professional learning and development session at Rutherford Junior High School next Monday.
More than 300 principals, teachers and teacher aides will attend the workshop, which will explore and explain the latest findings on studies of the adolescent brain.

'H' recommended for board
Whanganui District Council's representation review has recommended the Wanganui Rural Community Board adopt the "H" to become the Whanganui board.
The review also made minor adjustments to the board's Whanganui and Kaitoke subdivisions.

Council focus on planting
Horizons Regional Council focussed on swimming during the summer. Now it's focusing on planting. People who post pictures of their planting projects can be in to win a planting-related prize worth $1500.
They need to take a selfie with the project and hashtag #plantinourregion, label it with a location and put it on one of the council's social accounts (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter).
