Clubs from the Bowls Wanganui centre have competed for various interclub titles over the last two weekends.

Round robin matches were played on November 3-4 to determine the Top 4 teams in each section, with last weekend holding the semifinals and finals at various locations around Whanganui.

Qualifiers in Men's Premier 1 division saw Wanganui BC defeat Durie Hill 2 in one semifinal and Aramoho defeat Durie Hill 1 in the other playoff. Aramoho then defeated Wanganui in the final played at Wanganui East Bowling Club.

Women's Premier 1 division saw Wanganui defeat Laird Park while Wanganui East accounted for Aramoho in the semifinals, with Wanganui BC beating Wanganui East in the final.

The Men's Premier 2 division had Wanganui East and Aramoho 2 make the final with victories over Aramoho 1 and Marton respectively, and Aramoho 2 claimed the title in the final at the Wanganui East Club.

Men's Non-Premier grade had Aramoho recording a win over Laird Park and Wanganui 1 beating their clubmates Wanganui 2.

The final, played at Gonville Bowling club saw Aramoho defeat Wanganui 1.

Women's Non-Premier grade was also won by the Aramoho team, who defeated Wanganui East 2 at the St Johns Bowling Club, after those teams beat Wanganui East 1 and Wanganui respectively in the semifinals.

Focus now turns to the Whanganui region's part in the Bowls3Five competition, set to take place across the next five Tuesday evenings, starting at 6pm and running for around an hour.

This is the same version of the game currently screening on Sky TV on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Aramoho BC and Laird Park BC will alternate being the host, starting with Aramoho tonight, with the semifinals on December 4 and the finals on December 11.

The local champion will then compete against the Taranaki Bowls3Five winner, to see who goes forward to the next round of the national competition.
