The Whanganui Ballet and Dance Academy is bringing a classic tale to the stage in Whanganui next week.
Students have been rehearsing for their version of the classic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast written by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont in the 18th century and released as a popular film starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens last year.
Academy director Anna Chandulal says the production promises to be a "feast of dance for the entire family" and a great school holiday treat.
Anna Chandulal founded the academy in Whanganui's former fire station in 2009 and each year audiences are treated to a fairytale production at the Prince Edward Auditorium at Whanganui Collegiate School.
Last year their production of Maleficent included tiny tots to graduates all dressed in fabulous costumes.
