ARMED police were on guard yesterday as a sixth person appeared in court charged with the murder of Craig Rippon.
There was an armed presence outside the Whanganui District Court as a police van arrived with the accused and while he made his appearance yesterday afternoon.
He was remanded in custody to appear in the High Court at Whanganui on November 30 as were the five others who were in court on Monday in connection with the death of 57-year-old Gonville man Mr Rippon.
Mr Rippon, the leader of the Black Power gang in Wanganui, died in hospital after being assaulted at a Rimu St address on Sunday afternoon.
On Monday three accused appeared in the district court charged with murder, while two others were in Youth Court charged in relation to the killing.
