A influx of out-of-town entries continued to pump up the numbers at the June round of the 2018 Blinkhorne & Carroll Forestry Winter Series yesterday morning.
After 39 craft entered the May edition of the series, there was 40 on the Whanganui River for the 6km race from the National Library Building, with the course turning opposite Caffray Ave and finishing at the end of the 2km regatta course.
Aramoho Whanganui RC's veterans Trevor Rush and Richard Brock went back-to-back, as their 25m 58.1s time was 84.72 per cent prognostic for their grade, coming just ahead of the WROCC composite crew of Howard Hyland, Anika Robinson, Paki Ngaira, Nikki Crawford, Kelly Thomson, and Rachel Kingi, with a 83.63 per cent prognostic score from their 30m 7.8s time.
Third was Star Boat Club's Ricky Kiddle, with Horowhenua's Bruce Tate fourth and yet another visitor in Star BC's Valerie Chan rounding out the Top 5.
