The last bank in Bulls is likely to close.
Westpac has confirmed a proposal to shut the branch in Bridge St, leaving just an ATM and deposit facility. It would leave the town without a bank.
A Westpac spokesman said the proposal was being discussed with the branch's employees.
"Due to the number of people now using online and mobile banking, there has been a steady decline in the number of customers using the branch and we are assessing our options."
Rangitikei Mayor Andy Watson said he was contacted by the bank last week and told of the proposal.
