"The events are a showcase of the best from eras gone by, illustrated through entertainment, activities, food, drink and fashion with the historic and award-winning architecture of one of New Zealand's oldest cities as the backdrop."
Cox said Vintage Weekend was Whanganui's biggest annual party and it was growing.
"I think it's got the potential - it's already there - lot's of people are coming from out of town.
"Every year is improving but this year I want to pull together an event management framework that sits behind the planning and define what vintage is and how people can represent or experience that," she said.
"It's worth doing, I think."
Heather Cox has taken the reins as event manager.
Whanganui and Partners has supported Vintage Weekend for the past three years and Cox said the Vintage Weekend Trust was pulling together the programme at the moment.
