A man accused of assaulting and sexually violating his children has had his bail amended so he can go to church.
The 34-year-old, who has name suppression to protect his alleged victims, pleaded not guilty to 17 charges of assaulting a child and two of sexual violation of a child under 16.
Defence lawyer Stephen Ross told the court the man elected trial by jury on all charges.
He also asked for his client's bail conditions to be amended as, at a previous appearance, the man was ordered not to have any contact with children under 16.
Mr Ross said his client wanted to attend weekly church services and that children could be present at such services. Judge Dugald Matheson ordered the change, allowing the man to be able to attend church without interacting with children under 16.
