Kids in Hamilton will have their spirits lifted this Christmas, with handmade wooden toys from the Men's Shed.
The men have built more than four boxes full of toys to give to the Salvation Army's Christmas Appeal, a tradition which began when the Shed opened in 2008.
Boxes of colourful and natural wooden toys will be given to children around Hamilton who otherwise may have a very bleak Christmas.
Wood has been donated and some of the pieces are native timber.
Dr Neil Bruce, who was one of the founding members of the Men's Shed, said most of the men create from scratch, simply starting with an idea and building from there to create beautiful and interactive toys such as trucks and trailers, diggers, chairs with wheels for kids who like to move around, and toy clocks, the faces for which were donated by a woman whose husband had passed away but who had many toy clock faces stored.
