A Hamilton woman's innovative approach to counselling for mums is quickly gaining popularity and, according to its creator, is filling a niche for helping overwhelmed and struggling parents.
The Mindful Mum programme was created by Victoria Waters, who has worked in youth mental health and addiction services where she was first introduced to mindfulness training.
"It's about how to anchor ourselves in the present moment so we're not so preoccupied in our thoughts."
She said since she began offering the training she has had contact from interested mums daily, and her Facebook page is snowballing.
"I have almost 600 followers, but in the last three days there have been 270 new followers.
