It’s the sound that’s synonymous with celebrations — bottles popping.

And there’s certainly going to be a lot of that happening come October, when Makers Anonymous takes over Auckland’s most unconventional rooftop bar to unveil its newest varietal — Prosecco.

Kicking things off on October 5, the Makers Anonymous Summer Heights Series will transform HI-SO at SO/Auckland into a sparkling soiree — where the Prosecco is chilled, canapés never end and Auckland’s top DJs keep the bangers coming.

The celebrations will continue every Saturday for the month of October from 4pm – 6pm, where keen imbibers can toast the summer season with a glass of Makers Anonymous wine in hand while enjoying the sprawling views over the Waitemata Harbour.

Giving us every excuse to toss off our winter layers and embrace the balmy afternoons that Daylight Saving so often brings, we’ll be sipping Prosecco while capturing that all-important Instagram shot as we look out over the city from SO/Auckland’s best vantage point, 16 floors up.

Enjoy specially curated Makers Anonymous Prosecco cocktails, and the full range of Makers Anonymous wines, including Rosé, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and its new Prosecco, paired with mouth-watering canapés from the Hi-SO chefs.

If your social calendar for October is already booked out, never fear. The mixologists at HI-SO have curated a bespoke Makers Anonymous cocktail list for the entire month of October, so there’s no excuse not to stop by for an after-work drink, a pre-dinner tipple or a late-night aperitif.

PICK OF THE BUNCH
Prosecco has been a real crowd-pleaser since its inception, famed for its fun and fizzy nature — acting as the perfect accompaniment to any fête.

Makers Anonymous is now adding this crisp and refreshing drop to its already established range of boundary-breaking wines.

It’s a brand about fashion, art, culture and you. You’ll notice the tasting notes are removed from the back of its bottles, shunning conventional wine etiquette — making a stand to showcase that it’s not what goes into the wines that matters, it’s what you get out of it.

Rest assured, this sparkling white wine is as good as Prosecco gets — making it an easy choice to launch into Saturday evening.

Crafted from Australian grown Prosecco, it’s crisp, bright and acidic — everything you want to experience when the flavour first hits your palate. Salivating yet? We are.

Makers Anonymous Prosecco is best served well-chilled, so pop a bottle in the fridge on Friday night and enjoy its sparkling sensationalism come Saturday. Enjoy it with a charcuterie boasting prosciutto, stuffed mushrooms, seafood and fried fare, or alongside your favourite spicy Asian dinner dish. For a more Laissez-Faire approach, match it with potato chips and hot buttered popcorn.

The Makers Anonymous Summer Heights Series runs every Saturday in October from 4pm – 6pm. Tickets are priced at $59 each which includes canapés and Makers Anonymous wines during the designated two-hour slot.
