The people who brought us The Nest and delectable steamed buns at Chinoiserie are expanding their food offering with Kiss Kiss, a new northern Thai-inspired joint in Balmoral.
Opening today, the eatery has two identities: by day, Kiss Kiss offers a standard cafe menu with a Thai twist, lead by head chef Xander Cameron (formerly of Little Bird Unbakery); by night, the kitchen is run by Panawat Chotumungsa, serving up traditional northern Thai street food, with four rice dishes and four noodle dishes with a selection of sides (like whole deep-fried snapper).
"We are really hoping that people understand the difference between the night offering and the day as they are going to be very different and have different vibes to them," says co-owner Celeste Thornely. "You could easily be in at lunch and return for dinner that night to enjoy completely different experiences."
The eatery has a suitably exotic interior to match the dishes: think pink walls, bench seats, parasols and giant indoor palms.
