WARM POACHED WINTER FRUIT
Serves 4-6
• 1 cup water
• 1 cup white wine
• ½ cup sugar
• 2 cinnamon sticks
• peel from ½ orange
• 2 pears, peeled, cored and quartered
• 4-6 feijoas, peeled and left whole
• 10 prunes
• to serve, lightly whipped cream
1. Place the water, wine, sugar, cinnamon and orange peel in a medium pot. Bring to a simmer.
2. Add pears, feijoa and prunes to the simmering liquid. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes until pears are just soft all the way through when pierced with a small knife. Remove and allow to cool slightly before serving with whipped cream.
