Josh Emett and Fleur Caulton’s successful restaurant chain Madam Woo is set to open in Hamilton this March.
The new restaurant is the fourth location, with eateries already in Auckland's Takapuna, Dunedin and Queenstown, where the original Madam Woo opened in late 2013.
Madam Woo Hamilton will offer the same street food-inspired menu, taken from the authentic hawker centres in Singapore.
In August last year, Viva eating out editor Jesse Mulligan applauded the new Takapuna location, noting: "Madam Woo is an outstanding restaurant. It's the one we've been waiting for."
Of the restaurant's signature dish, Jesse said: "The hawker roll is a small, circular roti bread served with a little pile of goodness on top sticky pork, or coconut-spiced chicken or, my favourite, soy sesame eggplant. The roti is layered, buttery, flaky, like a croissant, and the filling is darkly savoury, but it’s mixed with vinegar-pickled cucumbers and salad greens, which refresh the mouth for the next bite."
The Hamilton location will operate seven days a week for lunch and dinner, and also offer a takeaway service.
