Karen Walker T-shirt
"I'm obsessed with trawling Trade Me for past season Karen Walker pieces, particularly from the Liberal and Miserable (2004-2005), Living with Cannibals and Other Adventures (2005), Queenie was a Dog (04) and Tree Girl (05-06) collections. My most recent purchase was a T-shirt originally from the Young, Willing and Eager range (03-04), printed with the words "Young and Stupid". I don't do slogan tees, but find wearing this to the office under a jacket kind of funny as now I'm not so young and stupid, but older and sensible." Zoe Walker, associate editor

Isabel Marant Bobby sneakers
"When I bought my Isabel Marant Bobby sneakers two years ago, the transaction amount nearly brought me to tears. That's the only time I've ever had doubts about the investment, though, and I still wear them several times a week they're ideal for lazy dressing yet give the illusion I was graced with height." Jessica Beresford, digital content producer

Belle + Beau stripes
"Belle + Beau do the best black and white stripes around. They're made in New Zealand with sustainable, organic cotton and work perfectly tucked into with distressed denim and paired with a navy coat and loafers." Anna Lee, editorial assistant

Marc Jacobs bag
"I picked up this petite plaid Marc Jacobs Jax bag coming through duty free in Hawaii late last year and thought it would be perfect for winter, given my love of tartan and navy blue. It reminds me of an old school satchel, but it's smaller, although the boxy design means you can stow away a fair amount, plus there's a good internal pocket under the flap for a phone and keys. There's definitely something a bit mannered British about the bag, perhaps due to the origins of the label's design duo Luella Bartley and Katie Hillier, who first featured the chequered leather in their debut Marc by Marc Jacobs runway collection for autumn-winter 2014-15. The wide shoulder strap and maroon-coloured lining nods to the prevailing 1970s influence on fashion, although I haven't done a Charlie's Angels and tried it with flares. After using it daily for a couple of months and figuring it would take me through winter, the damn catch broke, so I'm trying to sort a fix. Tricky, when there is no local store to stomp into to complain." Janetta Mackay, beauty editor

Acne coat
"I am currently hiding under my new Acne "Charles" coat. It's a mid-weight cashmere wool and the soft grey colour is perfect to throw over anything for the commute to jobs on cold winter mornings." Guy Coombes, photographer

Paul Green ankle boots
"I can't stop feeding my boot fetish! But I have never found any that I would rate as highly as my Paul Green boots. Without a doubt they are the best purchase I have ever made. They are not only stylish but more comfortable and supportive than most sneakers. I wear them on any occasion, whether it's a night out, to work or for a more casual weekend look." Lucy Casley, digital and design assistant

Re/Done jeans
"I've been searching many years for jeans that are the perfect cut and the exact shade of washed-out blue. Now I've found this Re/Done high rise pair, it's little wonder why I intend to wear them at least three out of seven days a week." Rosie Kelway, writer

Church's loafers
"I'm trying to be a grown up and not wear trainers everyday so I recently bought my first pair of Church's loafers in London. They are good for the office smart but not too formal or corporate looking. There's the obvious tendency to wear it with a button down oxford shirt and wool pants, but sometimes I like to wear them with jeans, a T-shirt and a bomber jacket in ode to Jim and Sal from Rebel Without a Cause. It makes me feel a little cooler when I'm at my desk doing something mundane like transcribing or filing expenses." Dan Ahwa, fashion editor

Saba coat
"My Saba coat is long and black and a little bit Matrix, not exactly risque style-wise but the zip does right up to the neck when it's cold, and even though it's wool, it doesn't smell like a wet dog if I get caught in the rain. I bought it in Sydney in April, thinking I'd have to wait for weeks before I'd get to wear it. Wrong. The very next week the temperature dipped in Auckland, and nearly every day since I've patted myself on the (warm, dry) back, as I walk through the cold to the office." Rebecca Barry Hill, writer

Adidas sneakers
"I am thrashing a pair of white Adidas Stan Smiths, done to death at the moment, but proving a practical hard-wearing run around as I am on my feet shooting most of the day. I usually avoid white shoes because they make my feet look obscenely huge, but these have been growing on me." Guy Coombes, photographer

Twenty Seven Names coat
"I've lived in my Twenty Seven Names coat this season fully lined with a wool and cashmere blend, its kept me somewhat stylish and snug on even the coldest of winter days." Anna Lee, editorial assistant

Deadly Ponies Mr Fill n Zip Twist bag
"This is my perfect everyday shoulder bag. It has a pocket for everything including a tube of lipstick for those last minute touch-ups yet is sleek and stylish, made with soft, buttery leather. I love it's three different handle lengths, which make it super comfortable to carry, whether slung over the shoulder or carried in the hand like a satchel. It looks as good with a casual duffel coat as a classic trench I won't leave home without it!" Beth Walsh, designer
