If you find yourself in London between now and July, make a beeline for the Victoria & Albert Museum where you'll find Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams the largest-ever retrospective of the great design house and the biggest fashion exhibition to be held by the museum since Alexander McQueen: Savage Fashion back in 2015.
It spreads through 11 rooms of the great Sainsbury Gallery and includes The Ballroom showcasing 70 years of eveningwear.
Other highlights include the frothy, off-the-shoulder couture dress worn by Princess Margaret on her 21st in 1951, plus the famed Bar Suit, which exemplified Dior’s New Look in 1947, with its focus on his then-experimental approach to the hem, bust and nipped-in waist.
Fans can also view up close sketches, toiles and the incredible hand work of the haute couture, and see dazzling creations by the six artistic directors since Dior's death in 1957 including John Galliano and the current creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri.
