Designer Kate Sylvester will spend her summer at a beautiful bach at Mangawhai Heads, with plenty of family time on the beach. She tells us what she'll be cooking, reading and trying over the holidays.
Where I'm Going:
I am bolting to our family bach at Mangawhai with my boys. I'm not telling where - I don't want any more people on the beach!
Where I'm Eating:
We will be hunting and gathering mostly - fish, crayfish, pipis and cockles. There's Bennetts of Mangawhai for the best chocolate in New Zealand, the Mangawhai Deli for amazingly good cheese sticks and the farmers' market for everything else.
Where I'm Drinking:
I'll be drinking Aperol spritzers on my deck.
What I'm Wearing:
Our Sylvester Saint Tropez striped shift dress over our supersonic Kate Sylvester swimsuit.
What I'm Reading:
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt is waiting patiently for me to finish work.
What I'm Making:
Linguine con le vongole. Cockles sauteed in garlic, white wine, parsley and chilli flakes served on a pile of linguine - heaven!
My summer must-haves:
Kate Sylvester sunglasses and Cetaphil sunblock.
Something new I want to try this summer:
I am going to learn to troll for kahawai.
