The impact of lockdowns on creatives can be arduous, which is why financial support to get projects off the ground are essential to keeping ideas moving.
The Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi's crowdfunding platform Boosted is growing its partnership with Creative New Zealand through its Boosted x Moana initiative – piloted in 2020 – a fund designed to help champion and fast-track the work of Pasifika creatives, and build capability in the Pacific Arts in Aotearoa.
Registrations are now open with a total of $55,000 in match funds being given out this time, helping kickstart 15 Pacific arts projects.
The funding initiative raised over $150k for Pacific Arts projects last year with this years’ funds being allocated on a first in, first-served basis.
10 x $3000 match funds will be given to Pasifika creatives that have a project that needs $6000 or more to start.
5x $5000 match funds will be given to Pasifika-led arts organisations that have a project that needs $10,000 or more to get off the ground.

There’s a catch - It’s all-or-nothing. Projects must reach their crowdfunding target to receive the funds on Boosted.

Advertise with NZME.To register, email Boosted at kiaora@boosted.org.nz and indicate your interest in receiving a Boosted x Moana match fund.
The team will then work with you to get your Boosted crowdfunding campaign prepared. Match funds will be loaded in for the launch and the projects will be live for funding for the month of October.
From here, the 15 Boosted X Moana match funds will be loaded into each Boosted project as a match donor before the projects go live. When the project is funding on Boosted, each standard donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the match fund.
