MADE TO ORDER
If you can't be faffed with building a foundation wardrobe, then Clinique's BIY Pigment Drops could be your new best friend. Picking up on the backstage artist trick of mixing makeup into moisturiser, these Blend It Yourself drops allow you to customise how much coverage you want.

By simply blending one, two or three drops of pigment into your favourite face base, you get the look of BB or CC cream or a fuller coverage foundation, without needing a shelf full of products. The drops cost $85, and are sold in shades to suit differing skin tones, but after that it’s BIY DIY. Available from department stores and selected pharmacy counters.

OVER-ARCHING EFFORT
If your brows need attention, then consider booking at Benefit in May, with $15 from every brow wax service next month going to Look Good Feel Better. Benefit chose the charity that assists women having cancer treatment as the local partner of its Bold is Beautiful Project. In two years this has raised $9 million and is now being expanded globally. A service can be booked at Benefit's flagship store on Ponsonby Rd and its counters at Smith & Caughey's.

SKIN FIT
Foundation expert Bobbi Brown is celebrating its comprehensive colour choice with a foundation focus next month. Get an expert appraisal of your perfect match from the Skin Foundation's expanded range of 31 shades, plus advice on your best formula type. If you buy a Build Your Perfect Skin Kit of a foundation plus another face or skin care item, you will receive a corrector as a bonus treat.

SIZE TO SUIT
Curio Noir's fifth fragrance Purotu Rose is a spicy floral reflecting the eclectic approach of founder Tiffany Jeans. The name, using the Maori word for handsome, nods to her heritage, which she spoke about at a recent introductory brand event held in London, in tandem with New Zealand diamond jeweller Jessica McCormack.

The fragrance has just launched here, in 5ml pocket parfum size for $40, a 50ml bottle for $240, or choose a bespoke handblown glass bottle in varying sizes from the selection at her Ponsonby Rd store. Visit curionoir.com

MIX AND MATCH
Custom-eyes your look, with Elizabeth Arden's latest makeup collection. The Eyes Wide Open range includes The Little Black Compact, an empty palette you personalise by choosing which eye shadow trios to insert. Create a bold, natural or smoky look in a range of long-wearing shades in matte, shimmery or metallic finishes. Well-designed mascaras for lashes and brows round out the collection.

The palette, sold with two trios, costs $79, with extra trios at $35. Other brands that sell palettes so you can easily build your own shade selection are Bobbi Brown, The Body Shop and Art Deco.
