1. The Daily Edited pop-up at The Shelter
A one-day-only pop-up store for fashion accessories powerhouse The Daily Edited (TDE) is coming to Auckland this week, with a highly-curated product selection at Ponsonby's destination for must-have brands, The Shelter. On Saturday 11th November, The Shelter will offer the most coveted pieces from TDE's collections, including men's and women's lifestyle accessories. Products such as phone cases, pouches, laptop cases, clutches, compendiums, wallets, travel purses and more will be on available for purchase; the very items which have helped define TDE as the understated, luxurious yet attainable accessories brand du jour. TDE's highly sought-after monogramming service will be available on the day for all purchases; a customisable, bespoke crafting element that has formed the DNA of the TDE brand.

2. Peter and the Wolf
Join the adventurous Peter as he leaves the safety of his grandfather's house and explores the wolf-filled forest. Told through puppetry and featuring the music of a live band, a well-known talent will narrate each performance, making each show even more magical. The long list of talent includes Rawiri Paratene, Rachel House, Rima Te Wiata, Thomas Sainsbury, Nic Sampson, Jennifer Ward-Lealand, Kura Forrester and even new MP Chloe Swarbrick and Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

3. Waiheke Garden Festival
Make the most of the warmer weather with a tour of Waiheke Island's most impressive gardens. This is a self-drive event for both locals and visitors, featuring workshops and lectures for aspiring gardeners. The festival also supports the Jassy Dean Trust which helps to support the health of children living on Waiheke Island.

4. New Zealand Book Festival
Once a year, the Mt Eden War Memorial Hall fills with not only hundreds of independently published books, but authors and industry pros as well. The NZ Book Festival is a great chance to get your holiday reading sorted at this popular festival, which has kept growing and growing since it began in 2014. No matter what genre's your favourite, there's sure to be something to suit your bookshelf.

5. Embellish by Emma Bass
In her vibrant and subversive work, the Auckland-based photographic artist explores the nature of beauty, with her latest exhibition opening on Thursday at Smyth Galleries. As well as referencing the Dutch masters, her colourful arrangements have drawn on the art of Ikebana flower arranging to contemporise the aesthetic, and Emma plays with perception, intertwining fake flowers into real to challenge the notion of authenticity.

6. La Cave Pop-Up at Rita
If you're Wellington-based or find yourself there this weekend, head along to Rita restaurant on Aro st, where a group of friends with a love of natural wine and thoughtful, yet pared-back food will be hosting a pop-up this Sunday and Monday. Michael Hazlewood - Rita's resident chef - hails previously from Brawn, Soif and Toasted in the UK, and Attica in Melbourne before that. Hazle will be preparing dishes centred around ingredients including Cantabrian anchovies, cured Kahawai, raw, wild kingfish and stracchino cheese. Wine Diamonds' Dan Gillet will be bringing in a considered selection of wines from New Zealand and Australia's burgeoning community of natural wine makers, as well as a limited number of bottles from established French producers.

7. Parnell Waiters Race
Watch on as waiters compete with each other in a race like no other, taking place along Parnell Rd this Sunday. After a series of speedy activities, one winner will win the title of 'Best Waiter in Auckland' and a trip to London, where they'll compete in next year's National Waiter's Race in Hyde Park. There will be food trucks on site, and activities to keep kids entertained.

8. Visit a Market
With sunnier days and Christmas just around the corner, markets and food festivals are popping up all over town. This Saturday, Maison Vauron is hosting a market day celebrating French food and wine, with a focus on rosé. There will be over twenty rosé's to try, as well as food stalls selling crêpes, flowers, gourmet cheeses and meat. Pop by 5 McColl St, Newmarket, between 10am and 3pm.

Advertise with NZME.Also taking place on Saturday is the St Francis Wine and Food Festival takes place at 2 Montrose St, Pt Chev, from 12pm-4pm. There will be live music from Hollie Smith, lots of delicious food options, and plenty of fun activities on offer.
If you're a Mt Albert local or live nearby, you'll be pleased to know the Alberton Market Days are returning for summer, starting this Sunday. There will be a pop-up tearoom, speciality produce and handmade goods, pickles, flowers, nut butters, sweet treats and fresh bread. Get a head-start on your Christmas shopping with the selection of handmade homewares and gifts, or simply enjoy the incredible historic house and lush garden. 9. LEANINGS jewellery exhibition
Twelve of New Zealand's most exciting contemporary jewellers, part of the mentorship programme Handshake 4, have come together for their first exhibition, LEANINGS. Drawing inspiration from near and far, the works on display are as intriguing as the system of angled and coloured planks that have been used to showcase them.
