If there are three people who can take credit for turning the fashion industry on its head in the 1990s, they are Marc Jacobs, Kate Moss and Alexander McQueen. That's according to American journalist Maureen Callahan's book, Champagne Supernovas, which uses interviews with designers and personal insiders to illustrate how the trio challenged conventional views on beauty and high fashion, pioneering the grunge movement after years of decadence and glamazons.

The book details how a teenage Moss rose to fame despite her “common” looks, how Jacobs used his wild youth as inspiration for his later collections, and how McQueen, who was insecure about his sexuality and looks, brimmed with originality.
