1. A Beautiful Hesitation
Fiona Pardington, one of New Zealand's most esteemed photographers, is being celebrated in Wellington this month with the largest exhibition of her work to date. Spanning 30 years, A Beautiful Hesitation includes over 100 of Pardington's photographs, which the artist says carry their own logic, experiences and pressures.

2. AUT Fashion and Society Lecture Series at Auckland Art Gallery
AUT Fashion Design school is hosting lectures at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki this month, covering topics such as gender identity and fashion, ethics and sustainability and political identity. Each lecture starts at 1pm in the gallery's auditorium, and is free.

9. From the Peninsula to the Islands
Artists such as Matthew Browne, Sheyne Tuffery, Michel Tuffery and Evan Woodruffe have donated works for this charitable exhibition, which aims to help the small Samoan community of Lotopue, which was affected by a tsunami in 2009. The initiative Project Samoa was conceived by Takapuna Grammar School and helps to raise money to fund people to travel to the village to teach English.
