Ever wondered how to create the dynamic hair looks you’ve spotted on the NZFW runway?
This year, the Viva beauty team is hair (sorry had to) to help, bringing you step-by-step instructions from the experts on how to create these runway-ready styles at home.
The ‘California Cool’ vibe that swept over Augustine’s NZ Fashion Weekend show, owed much to the bountiful, playful waves styled by Ronda Shaskey and the Matrix team.
Discover how to get the look, here:
Step 1: Start with dry hair. From roots to ends, spritz hair with dry shampoo and a volume building mousse, before using a blow-dryer on a cool setting to aerate roots. Use hands to work volume into the hair.
Step 2: Spray small sections with heat protectant spray and shine mist, then curl with tongs using a twist then wrap technique.
Step 3: Continue until all sections of hair are curled and leave to cool.
Step 4: When curls are set and cool, spritz hair with volumising spray and use a wide tooth comb to gently brush out curls, relaxing them into a wave.
Step 5: Finish the look with a mist of hairspray for hold.
