Mid-Century modern specialist Mr Bigglesworthy looks to New Zealand’s laid back beach culture and coastal architecture for inspiration, with a new collection of furniture that would look at home at the beach house or add a touch of retro holiday vibes to a city home.
Mr Bigglesworthy owners Dan and Emma Eagle have sourced modernist pieces that complement the modern bach, with a focus on clean lines, warm timbers and a connection to the beach surroundings. Open now, the collection — appropriately titled Long Weekend — includes furniture from New Zealand and international designers including Eames seating, a Rex folding rocking chair and outdoor furniture from contemporary designer Bob MacDonald. Other highlights include a rare 1970s burl wood case sofa by American designer Milo Baughman and 1960s Wheat Sheaf Coffee Table by Edward Wormley (pictured).
