The 33-year-old, who had close links to the drugs world, was last seen at the Mt Albert Motor Inn on June 20 - but it has emerged that she then visited a Papakura address before driving to Hamilton, where police believe she was murdered. The body was found hidden under "items'' yesterday afternoon at the rural address.

Miners were emotional after a meeting with Minister of State Owned Enterprises Tony Ryall today saying the minister had made up his mind over their proposal before the meeting began. Mr Ryall said the Government would not offer a one-off cash injection to support Spring Creek mine. Spring Creek miner Trevor Bolderson was fighting off tears after the meeting with the minister this afternoon, saying he might be forced to move overseas to get a job. Mr Bolderson said he wasn't looking forward to driving home and didn't know what he would tell his wife. He didn't know how he would meet his mortgage repayments, and feared losing his home.

"Now I know, I can believe 100 per cent, that I am the Olympic champion," said Valerie Adams, New Zealand's belated gold medallist for winning the shot put at the London 2012 Olympic Games. "This is more than I expected," Adams said pulling out a tissue from her pocket as her eyes flushed red. She thanked New Zealand "for your love and support". This video shows chilling effects of whooping cough on babies Waikato mum Stacey Illingworth is sharing footage of her baby’s struggle with whooping cough to help prevent other parents going through the same trauma. Stacey and her daughter Sativah returned home to Te Aroha recently after spending five weeks in Waikato Hospital. Because Sativah was too young to be fully immunised against whooping cough (pertussis), Ms Illingworth is encouraging all parents to be immunised, and try and avoid contact with anyone who is unwell, especially if they have a cough.
