The spate of thefts and rural burglaries in Central Hawke's Bay is continuing.
Police said thousands of dollars of equipment was stolen after thieves broke into a shipping container owned by contractors Fulton Hogan at Gwavas Station on SH5, sometime between August 12-13.
Thieves made off with a Flexi-drive pump and leads, a sub pump and a 5KVa generator with a combined value of $4350, police said.
In another incident, police said 75 litres of aviation fuel was siphoned from a plane parked in the hangar at the aero club on Takapau Rd sometime between August 11-13.
A portable shearing plant was also stolen from a woolshed in Mill St, Ongaonga around August 11. CHB police have arrested a 20-year-old male wanted over the burglary of a Whites Rd farm property earlier this month. He was remanded in custody to appear in Hastings district court.
