The stars of the multimillion-dollar Disney movie A Wrinkle in Time were in Wanaka yesterday with two days of rehearsal scheduled before filming begins on location at Lake Hawea tomorrow.
The three big-name stars of the movie, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling, as well as the director Ava DuVernay, were reported to have flown into Queenstown Airport on Oprah Winfrey's private jet on Sunday night and driven to a private house in Wanaka where they were staying.
Witherspoon was spotted having an almond cappuccino at Wanaka's Ritual cafe yesterday.
Co-owner Chris Hadfield said he was busy serving customers at the time and did not immediately recognise the Hollywood star.
"I had to look twice before I realised who it was,'' Mr Hadfield said.
