Green Party co-leader James Shaw caught up with The Country's Jamie Mackay to discuss the anti-irrigation vandalism along with other rural issues.
Shaw says that the Green Party does not support any forms of vandalism and says people should engage in constructive dialogue rather than resorting to acts of violence.
Mackay asks if he thinks there is an urban/rural divide in New Zealand. Shaw says there has been in the past and is the first to admit that the Greens and the agricultural sector have been "at loggerheads for 20 years". However he thinks the divide is closing and that people have the same values.
Finally Jamie wants to know if James Shaw thinks the CIA is spying on him, especially with a Trump government looming. Mackay is worried about Trump and how he will handle himself and asks Shaw for his opinion on Donald and his predecessor Obama.
