Listed software developer CommSoft has signed an agreement to distribute its phone and internet management software in North America with US-based Sension, a developer of call centre software solutions.
The agreement covers the Auckland-based CommSoft's CallMaster and NetMaster services, which monitor telephone and internet usage and will focus on the west coast of the US.
The company develops its products in New Zealand.
CommSoft's UK venture has been disappointing after an unexpected slowing in sales, but managing director Mark Lunt said the company had developed better channels and was also better at collecting payments.
In September CommSoft reported a June-year loss of $21.7 million on revenues of just $4.6 million.
It was planning to introduce its Brains Customer Relationship Management service, a database product, into the UK in the first half of the year.
The firm hoped to find success by focusing on a niche - small to medium call centres - in the highly competitive database industry.
Mr Lunt said the company had been overambitious in its growth forecasts before listing, and was rebuilding.
In June, CommSoft slashed costs, trimmed staff and closed offices in Brisbane and Perth.
