NEW PLYMOUTH's Pace Engineering won the supreme business award at Friday's Taranaki Chamber of Commerce Westpac Business Awards.
The company was also named NZ Trade and Enterprise Export award winner, and won the South Taranaki District Council Large Business Award, with Practical Education Institute (NZ) receiving a highly commended.
Pace Engineering was also highly commended in the CapEnz Primary Industries, Trades, Manufacturing and Engineering award. This award was won by Methanex, which was the other big winner on the night.
It also scooped the Implement and Associates Employer of Choice award and the OfficeMax Extra Large Business award and the Shell Todd Oil Services Health and Safety award. ABB Transformers was highly commended in the extra large business category, and Fulton Hogan Ltd received a commended certificate for this and also the Employer of Choice category.
In the health and safety category, Fulton Hogan took the highly commended title and Bell Building was commended.
The Stratford District Council's emerging business award went to Bell Building Ltd, with MyJot highly commended.
Eltham business Trackgrip Ltd won the Results.com business innovation and entrepreneurship award, with Whitaker Civil Engineering receiving a highly commended and Ecoinnovation a commended.
La Nuova Apparelmaster received the NPDC Environmental and Sustainability awareness award, with Precision Microcircuiits and Bach on Breakwater both getting highly commended.
The Air New Zealand Tourism and Hospitality award went to Tairoa Lodge, with Bach on Breakwater commended.
The Stratford Press won the Powerco Service Award, with AA Auto Service and repair highly commended and M and O Pacific Ltd commended.
Robertsons Pharmacy won the PricewaterhouseCoopers Medium Business award and the Classic Hits 90FM Retail award, with Vetro Foods highly commended for the retail category. M and O Pacific Ltd and AA Auto Service and Repair were both highly commended in the medium business category.
Weatherford NZ Ltd was named Settlement Support Migrant Employer award winner, with Pace Engineering receiving a highly commended and M and O Pacific Ltd a commended.
The Port Taranaki Brand, Marketing, Design and technology award was won by e-Blended Learning Solutions Ltd, with Primo Wireless and Fairfields Garden Centre both highly commended.
Vetro Mediterranean Foods won the Taranaki Daily News Small Business award.
