New Zealand's leading youngsters on the International Tennis Federation world junior rankings confirmed their top seedings by winning the New Zealand junior (under-18) championships singles finals at North Harbour yesterday. Waikato's Leanne Baker, world ranked 39 in juniors, was too strong for talented Aucklander Tracey O'Connor in the girls' final, winning 6-2 6-2. Lee Radovanovich of Auckland added the boys' singles title to his Australian under-16 and New Zealand under-16 titles won earlier in the year. He blunted the service firepower of Wellingtonian Matthew Prentice 6-1 7-5.
