New Zealand's Leanne Baker had a win and a loss in the finals of a US$10,000 ($14,580) tennis tournament in Jessi, Italy, yesterday.
Baker won the singles title by beating German Vanessa Pinto 6-2 7-6 (8-6) in the final for her third ITF (International Tennis Federation) singles crown.
She had beaten her doubles partner Francesca Lubiani, of Italy, 6-3 7-6 (7-3) in the semifinal.
Baker and Lubiani lost the doubles final to Italians Silvia Disderi and Giulia Gabba 6-2 2-6 6-4.
