KEY POINTS:
Two players will make their Fed Cup debuts for New Zealand in Christchurch next month.
Teenagers, Sacha Jones, 16, of Auckland, and Dianne Hollands, 23, of Christchurch have been picked to play in the Fed Cup Asia/Oceania Group I and II competition featuring 11 nations.
The team will be led by veteran, Leanne Baker, 26, who has represented New Zealand in cup competition since 1996 with the exception of 2004.
The Waikato player, who has a 27 to 26 win-loss record in singles and doubles, has a ranking of 263 in singles and 118 in doubles, both close to her career highs.
Also named is Christchurch's Ellen Barry, 18, who made her Fed Cup debut for New Zealand last year.
"It's a team of youth and experience with Leanne in her 11th year complimenting the newer players in Ellen and Sacha," New Zealand captain David Lewis said yesterday.
"Dianne also has experience in years and is very familiar with team environments."
New Zealand's top women's player Marina Erakovic is unavailable as she wants to concentrate on improving her world ranking.
The four-day competition starts April 18 and also features India, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Syria, Jordan and Singapore.
