Davis Cup team members Alistair Hunt and James Greenhalgh will meet in the final of the Auckland tennis championships after scoring three-set victories in the semifinals last night.
Top seed Hunt, from Canterbury, met fourth-seeded Danny Willman, of North Harbour, in the first semifinal.
Willman took the first set 7-6, and had an opportunity at 5-4 in the second-set tiebreak, but a missed volley let Hunt in to win 7-6 and he took the third 6-2.
In the other semifinal, second-seeded Aucklander Greenhalgh played a good baseline game to overcome third-seed Robert Cheyne, from Wellington, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4.
