New Zealand have kept their cards close to their chests ahead of the Asia-Oceania Davis Cup tennis tie against Indonesia starting in Invercargill tomorrow.
After trying several combinations during yesterday's training session, the New Zealanders have withheld their final line-up until the official draw is made at noon today.
Captain Glenn Wilson said New Zealand would utilise whatever advantage they could. The four-strong New Zealand team were hitting the ball well, making the selection more difficult, Wilson said.
"They are making the job hard, so now it's a matter of making the call and letting the guys go and do it."
Dan Willman is New Zealand's top ranked player, but Wilson may opt for the power of Alistair Hunt and team him with Mark Nielsen for tomorrow's singles matches. The Indonesians are short on experience on a medium-fast surface such as the Kenko mat at Stadium Southland.
That would leave Willman to make his Davis Cup debut with Hunt in the doubles on Saturday. While Nielsen has played in eight Davis Cup ties, he is yet to play doubles, but a question mark hangs over how many games Wilson will be able to get out of Hunt's 29-year-old legs.
Indonesia are playing their first indoor tie since beating Malaysia 5-0 in Kuala Lumpur in April 2000. Since then they have compiled an impressive Davis Cup record in the Asia-Oceania group, including 4-1 wins over Chinese Taipei in 2000 and China in 2001.
New Zealand have been easy 5-0 victors the last two times the teams have met.
