Pavlina Nola has stepped down from her role as captain of the New Zealand tennis Fed Cup team.
The former world number 68 has captained the side in recent years, most recently in India in April.
The Bulgarian born New Zealander leaves at a good time for New Zealand tennis with the progress made by Marina Erakovic and Sacha Jones.
Erakovic is delivering on her potential and Jones is 12th in the world's junior ranks.
Nola believes there are a few other promising young girls coming through the system and it is looking good for New Zealand tennis.
Nola is pregnant with her second child but says she will definitely return to New Zealand tennis in a year or two.
The new season starts in December, and Nola says while it is short notice she hopes New Zealand tennis can find someone to replace her before the season starts.
