New Zealand No 1 and tournament top seed Mark Nielsen lasted just one game into his second-round match against Dan King-Turner at the Futures tournament in Blenheim yesterday before being forced to withdraw with an abdominal strain.
His withdrawal gifted King-Turner, 21, a quarter-final against Australian qualifier Jurek Stasiak, who yesterday beat fifth seed Jorge Aguilar, of Chile, 6-0, 6-1.
