Two Kiwis are in with chances of winning ATP doubles titles in Europe this weekend.
A day after Artem Sitak reached the semifinals in Antwerp, Marcus Daniell has reached the same stage in Stockholm.
Daniell and his Dutch partner Wesley Koolhof are the highest remaining seeds left in the tournament. The third seeds have beaten Australian Matthew Ebden and Swede Robert Lindstedt 6-7 (3) 6-2 11-9 in 1 hour 38. It was an epic encounter that could have gone either way.
Both teams broke once from three break point chances in the first set but Daniell and Koolhof got on top in the second set and then won a tense match tie break. They had three match points at 9-6 in the tie breaker but couldn't convert any before making no mistake on their fourth at 10-9.
Daniell and Koolhof will face the unseeded French pair of Julien Benneteau and Lucas Pouille in the semifinals tonight.
